Camp EDCJCC Policies

For more information on Camp EDCJCC policies, please refer to the Parent Handbook.

Please note that these policies only apply to Camp EDCJCC and not to Theater J Camp or to Camp Tikkun.

Facilities, Location, and Transportation

Our Camp at the EDCJCC (rising Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade) enjoy the fun-filled facility of the EDCJCC, including an indoor pool, art and kitchen classrooms, and community hall, plus nearby playgrounds and parks. The EDCJCC is conveniently located four blocks east of the Dupont Circle Metro – Q Street exit. Our curbside drop-off and pick-up make it easy for commuting parents.

Staff and Safety

The safety and well-being of our campers are our top priorities. We maintain low camper-to-counselor ratios to ensure that our campers are well-supervised at all times. Staff members are certified in First Aid, and lead counselors are certified in CPR.

Health & Wellness

Camp at the EDCJCC is dedicated to promoting the health and wellness of our campers, staff, and facility. Please do not send your child to camp with a fever or infection. Your child must be fever- and infection-free for 24 hours before returning to camp. If your child is sent to camp sick, they will not be permitted to stay, and you will be called to pick them up. If your child should become ill at camp, they will be brought to the camp office, and the Camp Director will call you. Your child will rest in the camp office until they are picked up.

Camper Forms

All camper forms can be accessed, filled out, and uploaded through your my.edcjcc.org account. These forms are necessary to help us to provide your child(ren) with the best care possible. The following forms are required for all campers:

You will receive an email when forms are ready to be completed.

Registration and Deposit

To reserve your spot for the 2025 Camp Season, please fill out the secure online registration application through your my.edcjcc.org account. Registration includes a $200 non-refundable deposit for each camper and is on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be two options for payment when submitting your application.

Registrations made after May 27, 2025, must be paid in full at the time of registration. No child will be allowed to begin their camp experience without all fees being paid in full.

Refunds

If you decide to unenroll your child for camp before May 1, you will be refunded half of what you have already paid for. You will not be refunded your $200 deposit. No refunds will be made for withdrawals after May 1, 2025. The EDCJCC reserves the right to request that a camper leave the camp because of a violation of the camp regulations or because of personal conduct that interferes with the health or welfare of themselves or others. Should this occur, we will not offer refunds. No refunds or make-up dates will be available in the event of cancellation due to severe weather or unforeseen circumstances outside of the EDCJCC’s control.

Cancellation Policy

The Edlavitch DCJCC reserves the right to cancel any camp program due to insufficient enrollment. Should this occur, we will make every effort to accommodate registered campers in other programs. If we cannot do so, we will offer a full refund.
