Think Jewishly, Act Locally 3: Speaking Your Truth to Power

Adults (18+)

Date : Thursday, Feb 27

Time : 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Location : Edlavitch DCJCC
1529 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC

An interactive workshop with Jews United for Justice, where we’ll learn how to create powerful written testimony in preparation for testifying before the DC council.

One of the most powerful tools we have as advocates for issues we care about is our story and the ability to use our voice – and one of the most effective ways to speak truth to power is to testify before the DC Council. Hearing the stories and personal narratives of constituents helps move elected officials to take action on the issues that really matter. Join us for a workshop on how to create meaningful written testimony based on your personal story and values. We’ll practice connecting your story to specific issues that are before the Council, and how to make policy change through righteous storytelling.

Dinner will be provided as part of this evening. This workshop is geared towards teens and adults.
