Join the Youth Action Institute to throw an early Mother’s Day party for residents of Community of Hope as we pamper the moms with manicures or help their kids put together cards and small gifts. This project is eligible for 2 SSL hours.
Join the Youth Action Institute to throw an early Mother's Day party for all of the moms staying at a Community of Hope site. While half of the volunteers will pamper the moms with manicures, the other half will help their kids put together cards and a small gift they can give their moms on the actual holiday.
Community of Hope works to provide health care, housing, and other supportive services to families and individuals in the DC area who are experiencing homelessness as well as those who are low-income and under-resourced. This project is a continuation of our long-standing partnership with Community of Hope.
This project is open to teens ages 14-18 and is eligible for 2 SSL hours. If you have any questions, please reach out to Lyssa at ajellenik@edcjcc.org.
Please note: In order to protect the identity, privacy, and dignity of residents who may attend the same school as our volunteers, Lyssa will be reaching out to participants upon registration. If participants attend the same school as any of the residents, we will withdraw your registration and talk about other ways for you to participate and get SSL hours.
