Join chef Susan Barocas and author Micah Siva for a special celebration of Purim and Micah’s new cookbook, Nosh: Plant Forward Recipes Celebrating Modern Jewish Cuisine all while enjoying a conversation about modernizing Jewish recipes and still preserving traditions and culture. We’ll also explore vegetarian takes on classic Jewish dishes. Micah and Susan will guide you through their tricks for hamantaschen success while you nosh on a Pomegranate Lentil Tabbouleh and Funfetti Hamantaschen (vegan). Cookbooks will be available for purchase at the time of registration or at the event.
Micah Siva is a trained chef, registered dietitian, recipe writer and food photographer, specializing in modern Jewish cuisine. She shares Jewish-inspired, plant-forward recipes through her blog, Nosh with Micah. Micah lives in San Francisco, California, with her husband, Josh, and their mini sheepadoodle, Buckwheat. Writer, chef and cooking instructor Susan Barocas is co-founder/co-director of Savor: A Sephardic Music & Food Experience. She was founding director of the innovative Jewish Food Experience and served as guest chef for three of President Obama’s White House Seders.
