MLK Evening of Service: Teen Edition

Teens ages 11-18 are invited to join us for an evening honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by volunteering to assemble hospital care kits for patients at the GW Cancer Center. This project is eligible for 2 SSL hours.

Join the Youth Action Institute to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday, January 15, with an evening of volunteering. This year we will be assembling hospital care kits. This year we will be assembling hospital care kits. Through our ongoing partnership with the GW Cancer Center, these bags will be distributed to patients who are currently undergoing chemotherapy who do not have a support system in the DC area. These kits will help to bring a little comfort during a very difficult time.

We request a registration fee of $10 per person to help offset the cost of supplies for this project. If this cost is in any way prohibitive to your participation, please email Sonya at sweisburd@edcjcc.org.
