After a terrific first session, we’re excited to bring Jewish Teens of Color together for more conversation! There’s a lot going on in the world that complicates our identities, while it’s hard enough to navigate the world as a teenager. Come explore race and identity and make new friends in this facilitated space.
After a terrific first session, we’re excited to bring Jewish Teens of Color together for more conversation! There’s a lot going on in the world that complicates our identities, while it's hard enough to navigate the world as a teenager. Join other Jewish Teens of Color for an afternoon of exploring race and identity, creating space to show up as you are, and making new friends. This will both be an opportunity to have honest conversations about being a Jewish Teen of Color in 2024 in a safe space as well as the chance to just hang out and meet other Jewish Teens of Color! Dinner will be provided during this program.
This program is intended for teens 12-18 years of age. Please note this program is specifically curated for teens who identify as Jews of Color. If your teen does not identify as being part of this community, we encourage you to find a different opportunity for them at the EDCJCC.
About the facilitator: Naomi Ravick currently serves as the Acting Director of Operations for the Alexander Young Leadership Department at AJC. Naomi graduated from New York University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Journalism where she served two terms as the co-president of Hillel at the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life. She now sits on the Bronfman Center Advisory Board in her capacity as an alumnus and has been particularly involved with their Black-Jewish programming and initiatives including facilitation of ‘From the Hilltop to the Mountaintop, Black-Jewish Dialogue’. Originally from Bethesda, Naomi lives in Washington, DC where she is pursuing her Master’s degree in International Affairs with a concentration in conflict resolution at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
