November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and this month the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) wants everyone to know that we can change the course of this disease through awareness and early detection. With a five-year survival rate of just 13 percent, pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Early detection is vital to improving patient outcomes, which is why it is so important for the public to know the symptoms and learn the 7 steps for reducing their risk for pancreatic cancer. Come join an informational session with PanCAN about Pancreatic Cancer, the specific risk in the Jewish community, and available resources in your community.
Free to attend, but please RSVP so we know how many to expect. If you have any questions, please reach out to Tena at thowell@edcjcc.org.
