Come celebrate Chanukah a few days early with other Jews of Color and their families! We’ll enjoy latkes, dreidels, and games and will light the menorah together.
It's the best time of the year – cozy sweaters, warm drinks, greasy, delicious food, and celebrating the Festival of Lights! Join us to celebrate Chanukah a few days early with latkes, dreidels, games, and lighting the menorah. This year, we will have educator, DEI expert, and author extraordinaire Liz Kleinrock join us to talk about the new book she co-authored with Caroline Kusin Pritchard, What Jewish Looks Like. This powerful anthology celebrates thirty-six Jewish heroes—from Tracee Ellis Ross and Victor "Young" Perez to Doña Gracia Nasi. It is a first-ever collection that disrupts the narrative of how a Jewish person is perceived, includes accessible primers on important Jewish history, a map, quotes, and much more. Each household that attends the Chanukah celebration will receive their own copy of the book!

Please note this holiday celebration is specifically curated for community members who identify as Jews of Color and for their families. If you do not identify as being part of this community, we invite you to attend a different Chanukah event happening at the EDCJCC instead.
