Pregnant for the first name? Looking to create a community with other expecting moms to exchange ideas and find support? This facilitated group will meet weekly in person to provide a safe and facilitated space for moms to discuss their experiences and learn from one another.
This group will meet weekly in person at the EDCJCC for six weeks, from January 16 through February 20, to provide a safe and facilitated space for moms-to-be to discuss their experiences and learn from one another. We will explore several topics, including: concerns about childbirth and parenting; balancing family with work outside the home; navigating new relationships with your partner, parents, and in-laws; and recognizing post (and pre)-partum depression and anxiety.
This group is facilitated by Robin Schacht, PsyD, PhD, a clinical and developmental psychologist who works in private practice at Dupont Circle supporting clients with various issues that arise in the transition to parenthood. She has also worked for many years with parents and infants in hospital settings and as a researcher on studies of infant and child development. Click here to read more about Robin.
