Code Advantage:

Kodu Play – Coding through 3D Video Game Design (1st-2nd graders)
One of the best ways to get a child excited is to allow them to create something of their own. In this class, we enable young kids to make their own 3D adventures by using fundamental coding concepts. Children will take Kodu apple picking, program Kodu to play hide and seek, and even help Kodu find his way out of a maze! Students are encouraged to make the adventures their own by adding in their own ideas. Learning to code at a young age allows children to exercise critical thinking, creative expression, and apply logical reasoning.

Kodu Plus – Coding through 3D Video Game Design (3rd-5th Graders)
Kids have a blast creating their own 3D video games and adventures while learning fundamental coding concepts such as loops, variables, and constructors. In this Game Design class, we combine a child’s love of playing games with the ability to create those games through coding. Students create and personalize games such as Pac-Man, Space Alien invaders, and even get to create their very own game from scratch! Coding allows kids to use critical reasoning, creative expression, and logical thinking skills. This class does not require any prior computer/coding experience. Lessons are more in-depth and appropriately paced for 3rd-5th grade students.

Pre-K-1st grade
Coach Arthur promotes teamwork and sportsmanship while teaching the kids the skills to become great soccer players. Students start by learning the basics and competing in team games all while having fun!

Children will investigate physics fundamentals and bring their scientific minds to basic magic tricks. Your Mad Scientists will be shocked by what they learn about electricity, blown away by their experiments with air pressure, and swept away by the excitement of working with waves!

Pre-K-4th grade
Let’s get our cooking on! The EDCJCC hallways smell of their amazing creations every Friday. Everyone is a participant in creating delicious dishes for everyone to enjoy.

Tennis Class:

Pre-K-5th grade

We are excited to partner with RDUTennis. Their 10 and under clinic dynamic provides children the opportunity to be exposed to tennis with more confidence and an easier way to be integrated into the sport. We will be using 10 ft nets and low compression balls for quality control, safety, and an easy transition into tennis. To help students, RDUTennis will use:

· Child size racquets so kids can feel in control

· Foam or low pressurized balls that provide kids more time to get to the ball so they can start playing tennis right away

· Courts and nets that are scaled to the size to match the ability level of young children in the indoor gymnasium.

Moriah, our yoga instructor presents a playful approach to yoga and has been teaching yoga to children in the area for many years.  Develop focus, flexibility, strength, and coordination through a variety of yoga poses, stories, songs, drawings, and games.
