FAMILY PROGRAMS

The Edlavitch DCJCC FAMILY PROGRAMS are designed with your family in mind. We merge high quality experiential activities with an informal camp-like atmosphere. Dedicated to serving and supporting our diverse community, we create safe space to explore Jewish values amidst the messy, joyful chaos that is raising kids in an urban environment in the modern world. Organized around the Jewish calendar and Shabbat we offer: monthly celebrations, pool parties, carnivals, story time and other kid friendly activities for children aged 2-8. All families are welcome—you don't have to be Jewish to find a home at the EDCJCC.

SHABBAT

Family Shabbat Clusters
Kickoff Dinner: Friday, September 8, 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Clusters are a great, casual way to get to know more Jewish families with children in the DC metro area. We will pair you up with families who have similar interests, geographical location, and ages of children. Then, once a month from March to August, a small group of families get together to experience Shabbat in the best way for your cluster.  We welcome all kinds of families including interfaith families interested in exploring Shabbat in a safe, joyful, family focused environment.

ROSH HASHANAH - JEWISH NEW YEAR

Day of AWE-some
Wednesday, September 20, 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Want to provide a meaningful way for your young children to connect with the holiday of Rosh Hashanah?  Come to Day of Awe-Some: Rosh Hashanah for Families, to hear the shofar, taste apples and honey and the start off a new year of beautiful wishes through songs, crafts and stories in an atmosphere that welcomes everyone and caters to kids.
