Teen Excursion Camp 

Entering Grades 7 - 9

Sesion 1: June 25 - July 6

Virginia Beach and Philadelphia

Week 1 – Let’s start summer with a trip to the beach. Campers will travel to Virginia Beach with awesome stops along the way. Campers will enjoy Busch Gardens, Water Country USA and the sandy shores on this week long adventure.

Week 2 – Celebrate July 4th where it all happened in Philadelphia. Enjoy a week filled with fun, excitement, and rich history. Campers will enjoy Hershey Park, historic sites in Philadelphia, and the countryside of Pennsylvania.

Session 2: July 9 - July 20

West Virginia and Jersey Shore

Week 3 – Let’s go on an outdoor adventure in West Virginia. Campers will experience nature in our mountainous neighbor state. Campers will go hiking, rafting, and tubing in this week of surprises.

Week 4 – Back to the beach! This time we are going to the Jersey shore. Campers will travel north, while stopping along the way to experience fun sights and attractions

Drobots Drone STEM Camp 

Entering Grades 1 - 8

Session Dates: July 23 - July 27 (1st - 2nd graders, 6th - 8th graders)

Ultimate Drone Obstacle Challenge is specifically designed for both the novice and experienced drone enthusiasts. This is week is filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest growing sports, Drone Obstacle Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Campers will use iPads and remote controls to navigate the drone through short and long obstacle courses. Participants will also create the design and help build the the obstacle course in preparation for the last days final activity and competition. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. Drone safety and the social responsibilities of flying drones are included in this program.

Travel Camp 

Entering Grades 5 - 7

Session Dates: June 25 - June 29

Travel camp is an awesome mix of adventure, memories, and friends. Campers will spend each day at a different site throughout the DC Maryland and Virginia area exploring a wide variety of places and activities. Trips include amusement parks, historical sites, outdoor adventure and recreation, and much more!

Theater Camp  

Entering Grades 1–6

Session Dates:

August 6 - August 17

Join Teaching Artist Katie McCreary and her team as we create short plays performed, designed, and presented by campers!  With degrees in both Theater and Education, Katie's 15-year career has been focused on helping all students gain confidence both onstage and off (including her time teaching enrichment classes for our after school programming).  Whether your camper is a seasoned veteran of the stage or new to the idea of performance, everyone will be given a chance to use their actor tools (body, voice, and imagination) to create a character onstage and learn about character offstage.

Outdoor Adventure Camp  

Entering Grades 3–6

Session Dates:
Outdoor Adventure 1: July 16 - July 20 

Campers stretch their legs outside the beltway to enjoy many of the different outdoor activities that the region has to offer. Campers will hike in the Shenandoah National Forest, learn map and compass skills,, canoe or raft in some of our local scenic rivers, visit natural springs and watering holes, and spend the night outdoors camping. Have a great time learning about the outdoors while they are experiencing it! 

Junior Adventure Camp  

Entering Grades 1–2

Session Dates:
August July 23 - July 27

Our Jr. Adventure Camp takes some of the highlights from our program for older campers and makes them accessible to our younger campers. Campers may go hiking at Great Falls, climbing at a local rock gym, tubing down a local river and more. (Please note that the younger campers do not do an overnight trip.)

Advanced Outdoor Adventure Camp 

Entering Grades 5–7

Session Dates:
July 9 - July 13

For advanced outdoor adventurers who enjoy hiking, canoeing, and getting to learn about the outdoors while experiencing it!

Teva Camp 

Entering Grades: 3 - 5

Session Dates: July 30 - August 3

Campers will spend a week at Rock Creek Park exploring the world outside and the role that humans play in both enjoying and protecting our natural environment. Drawing on Jewish values that compel us to take care of all living things, our environmental education specialists will provide the children with hands- on opportunities to gain wilderness skills in orienteering, hiking, shelter building, identifying plants and animals, and more!

Chess Camp 

Entering Grades: K - 6

Session Dates: July 16 - July 20

From beginners' strategy to building mastery, this camp will provide chess lessons and mentoring plus the full compliment of EDCJCC Camp activities. Working with Ziko Djuric, an FIDE Rank Master, this is the perfect camp to experience chess like never before!
