Programming for individuals with disabilities and individuals of all abilities.
The EDCJCC is committed to providing young adults of all abilities opportunities to create meaningful and well-rounded lives through social engagement, vocational opportunities, fitness, volunteering, and educational workshops. We empower young adults, develop leaders, and support independence. We strive for inclusivity in all our programs. In addition, the EDCJCC provides a more inclusive environment for our existing programs.
Camp Kesher
Summer Camp at the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia
Rising 9th-12th Graders and ages 18-27
Camp Kesher (Connection) is an exciting summer camp opportunity for teens and young adults offered by the Inclusion and Disability Services Department at the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia.
Since its inception, Camp Kesher helps neurodiverse teens and young adults to build friendships and gain independence skills. In addition, the Camp Kesher experience gives campers the opportunity to gain confidence through success in fun activities such as art, sports and games, music, yoga, theme days, and much more — in a caring, friendly, and supportive environment. Each day, campers embark on a field trip to explore and experience all that Greater DC has to offer.
Fee:
Early bird rate $735
$785 after May 1, 2024
Details:
Campers will enjoy the rich variety of recreational and cultural opportunities that camp will provide as we travel around our community!
An intake is required for all new JCC participants.
Food will be provided daily.
2024 Camp Sessions:
Week 1: July 8-12 (Teens)
Week 2: July 15-19 (Teens)
Week 3: July 22-26 (Adults)
Week 4: July 29-August 2 (Adults)
Hours: Daily, Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:45 PM

The Crown Shyness

This brilliant documentary opened at the acclaimed Venice Film Festival and received the Italian Silver Ribbon Award.

Vocational Volunteering
Build your resume and references! The Edlavitch DCJCC is always looking for volunteers to come and help in our various departments. Opportunities include collecting tickets, ushering, filing, data entry, concessions, mailings, and more. We create personal consistent schedules in your area of interest or you can sign-up for opportunities that work within your schedule.
Social Programs
The EDCJCC strives to create an inclusive environment through our many social programs. Programs include monthly bowling, game nights, cooking classes, and more. In addition to our regular monthly programs, we provide a variety of diverse and engaging social programs throughout the month. We pride ourselves on developing social programs that serve our community. Our social programs are ever-evolving based on our community needs.
